Swarkles Flailing! “It had to be her.”
So i was obviously over the moon with the HIMYM season finale and since then have been repeatedly going back and watching episodes for the nostalgia trip. Now i’ve always been a HUGE SWARKLES FAN but now, knowing that Robin is the bride all of their moments seem so much cuter, even the ones long before they were a couple like in season 3 when Blah Blah asked Robin when she met Barney and she denies them being a couple with 16 nos!!! lol
I just keep going back to this moment:
And even though i never lost faith that my OTP were endgame (although that Quinn proposal freaked me out!!) i can’t help noticing more and more previous hints that she was the bride! I mean there was SO many, especially in S6 and S77!
- Barney: Finally, Robin, you’re dating Ted.
- Robin: Aw, Man! Why??
- Barney: I can’t have any single female friends lying around… my dad will be all, “Why don’t you marry Robin? You guys were cute together! Deep down you know you were never happier when you were with her!” ..uuuh, no thanks!

And an obvious one is in the same episode that the wedding is first talked about, we see Robin wearing this:
It may seem like something easily passed over but it’s no coincedence that she is wearing a white sundress in the same episode that Barney talks about the season of sundresses being over and after showing the wedding day with this:
“To Every Thing There Is A Season”
Seems like a pretty appropriate phrase to have at the wedding of a couple whose sole problem is timing!
Not to mention how throughout the series we have come to associate the yellow umbrella with Ted’s The One so it seems pretty coincidental that they would put Robin in the colour yellow in a lot of her important scenes with Barney:

Robin carries that coat around with her without wearing it for like the whole episode and it is placed plainly in view in so many scenes at Quinn’s apartment! Why bother if it’s just any prop? It seems to me like it was symbolising that she was the bride even in an episode where Barney took such a big step with Quinn!
Maybe i’m just reading to much in to all this but seriously after 7 seasons i think we can all agree that the creators and writers of HIMYM rarely ever do anything for no reason!
And for all those in despair about Ted saying that the wedding day went horribly wrong, just remember he said wedding day not wedding so probably the day itself is a disaster and will go really badly but he confimed they will still get married!
